Let's get to the evil characters now

Smeagol, once a hobbit, he became obsessed by The Ring and turned into the fawl creature Gollum. A part of his old self has survived and now Smeagol suffers from a split personality. Sadly enough, Gollum wins the battle of the mind and turns completely evil. His faith is bound to Frodo's.

Grima (behind Eowyn) was the counsellor of King Theoden of Rohan. He betrayed king and country by becoming an agent of Saruman, and on the Wizard's orders Grima weakened Theoden in preparation for an invasion of Rohan.

Saruman the White was the Chief of the Order of Wizards. He was wise and powerful, but he was also proud and he became corrupted by desire for the One Ring and was ensnared by the will of Sauron. He created armies and machinery and sought to expand his power.

Little is known for certain of the beginnings of the Orcs, the footsoldiers of the Enemy. It is said that they were in origin corrupted Elves captured by Melkor before the beginning of the First Age . In appearance, Orcs were squat, swarthy creatures. Most of them preferred the darkness and live in caves under the ground.

The great soldier-Orcs, the Uruk-Hai, that first appeared in the late Third Age ; they were larger and stronger than their forebears, and could withstand the light of the Sun.

A word from the Black Speech, usually translated 'Ringwraith'; the name of the nine Men corrupted by the power of Sauron's Nine Rings, and transformed into his dark and deathless servants.

The Eye of Sauron, f rom the highest tower of Barad-dûr, Sauron kept an unceasing watch on the lands and kingdoms of Middle Earth. The 'Eye of Sauron ' is a reference to this unsleeping vigilance. Aragorn, Legolas and Gandalf have to distract the Eye of Sauron, so that Frodo and Sam can enter Mount Doom unseen.
