"The world has changed, I can feel it in the water, I can feel it in the earth, I can smell it in the air "

Galadriel's Song of Eldamar
translated by
Christopher Gilson

Lindenye lassion, yar loer malin lasseli,
Ar súrio, ya túle imbe ornetelcoli.
I Anar pella, Isil pella, ear falmaron
Alávie falasse Aldo laurilótion.
I alda tintile nu tinwi Oiolómeo
Mi Eldamar ar-rambar Elentirioneo.
Telcollon yénion oloier lassi andave,
Endórelvasse Elennéni lantar sinome.
A Lóriende! Lusta Ré, i Hríve tuluva;
I lassi lantar vanwe sirienn' Anduineva.

Man cirya oio Melca Ear nin essaruva?

Elven
Song

Down valleys deep, up skies so high
The ogres leap and dragons fly
The elves they sing of guardians black
Of restless king who will come back
To seek his longforgotten vall’
Of honey golden, flave so sweet
Where magic dawns all feel so well
And elven-daughters' fairies meet
In times which now to past belong
On merry feasts the elves they sung
Those days the king he seeks – for he
Without the laughter just can’t be
But rivers fine from milk were made
And sweet of love the air to breethe
These final words of dreams will fade
The king now cries and daughters grieve
